We're Not John Does For A Reason

Coach G at USF has built this amazing culture within the baseball department. He’s the type of coach who you’re ready to run through a wall for him. He doesn’t shy away from vulnerability, and he allows those around him to show vulnerability.

– Alyssa Nakken

Assistant Coach, San Francisco Giants

1st Female Coach in MLB History

First hired by Coach G and was in the program at the same time as multiple John Doe’s 4-12

After 24 years of building a baseball program without incident at the school, Nino Giarratano was fired as baseball coach of USF in the middle of a game during the 2022 season for a lawsuit brought forth by anonymous plaintiffs who are suing for things like "lost MLB wages".  Many ex-teammates of the John Doe's, a vast majority in fact, are actively speaking out in support of Coach G and in protest of his firing.

The Story of Coach G at USF

He has a unique ability to get players to become the best versions of themselves on and off the field. Under Coach G, USF baseball went from a program that had never won a conference championship and had only a few pro players ever into a perennial contender on the west coast with multiple players drafted into the pros each season.  That sort of success requires a leader to challenge individuals and have them exceed their own sense of a comfort zone.

"They were never told 'no' growing up. That was obvious."

After the 2022 college baseball season ended many players gave interviews in which they provided direct responses to the allegations made in the lawsuit as well as the dark details about how unprofessional and unsupportive school administration was throughout the process.  Their stories speak to how delusional John Doe’s 1-3 were as teammates, how exaggerated and/or inaccurate the allegations are, and what if felt like to be told that their season would be cancelled if they showed any support for their fired coach.

During the investigation, only the John Doe accusers were interviewed.  No potential witnesses nor the accused were ever talked to.
